ForgeFront is a federal contracting intelligence platform built for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSBs) and other small-business contractors. It helps you discover opportunities, read and break down statements of work, price your labor, find teaming partners, and generate bid proposals.
First steps:
- Complete your Business Profile (Account → Business Profile) — your NAICS codes, set-aside status, and capabilities power match scoring across the app.
- Go to Contracts and run a search to load live federal opportunities.
- Open any contract to read its scope, break it into priceable line items, and draft a bid.
The Contracts page searches a database of roughly 78,000 federal opportunities, updated daily. Search is instant and does not consume any API limits.
Filters available:
- Set-Aside — SDVOSB, 8(a), WOSB, HUBZone, small business, or full & open.
- State — place of performance.
- NAICS — industry code matching your business.
- Keyword — words in the title or description.
- Days posted — how recently the opportunity was posted.
Each result shows a Match % based on how well the opportunity aligns with your Business Profile. Click any result to open the full detail page.
The detail page shows the agency, NAICS, set-aside, solicitation number, response deadline, point of contact, and match score for an opportunity.
The Statement of Work / Description section displays the scope. For many federal listings the full scope lives in attached solicitation documents on SAM.gov rather than in the short synopsis. When that happens, use the line-item tools below or the Open on SAM.gov button to view the official posting.
This feature reads a statement of work and extracts the concrete, priceable items a contractor must source or perform — labor categories, equipment, materials, services, and compliance requirements — so you can collect vendor quotes and build your pricing.
Two ways to use it:
- Click "Break Down Into Line Items" — the app analyzes the available scope text automatically.
- Drop the solicitation PDF(s) — when the real scope is in an attachment (like Atth B_PWS.pdf), drag the file into the drop zone. The app reads the PDF in your browser, extracts the text, and breaks it down. You can drop multiple files and they will be merged.
Where to get the PDF: click Open on SAM.gov, download the PWS / RFQ / solicitation attachment, then drag it into the drop zone. Look for files named "PWS" (Performance Work Statement) or "SOW" — those contain the scope.
Each extracted line item gives you a Vendor field and a Quoted Price field. Enter prices as vendors reply, and the totals flow into your proposal pricing. The RFQ button drafts a request-for-quote email for that item.
The Bid Writer drafts a proposal from a contract's scope. Click Write Bid on a contract detail page to pre-fill it with the SOW, or open Bid Writer directly and paste your scope.
It produces proposal sections with AI assistance, incorporates your line-item pricing, and can export the finished document to Word or PDF.

"No line items found" on a contract: the synopsis is too brief — the real scope is in a PDF attachment. Click Open on SAM.gov, download the PWS/SOW attachment, and drop it into the drop zone.
The page looks out of date after an update: do a hard refresh (Ctrl+Shift+R). ForgeFront caches files to work offline, so a normal refresh may show an older version.
